Laila studied at the Vancouver School of Art and took special instruction rom Sam Black at U.B.C. Laila has attended many workshops over the years and has been selected for juried shows in Vancouver, Kamloops, Sidney, Mission, Langley, Winfield, Penticton and the B.C. Festival of the Arts.

Laila moved to the Okanagan Valley several years ago and since then she has seen her painting taking a new direction from landscapes and florals to the figure as a celebration and an interpretation of life. She finds the light in the Okanagan during Spring, Summer and Autumn brings a purity and strength to her palette.

Laila Campbell Her paintings include ladies often dancing or caught in moments of time, both joyful and reflective. Cats and quail appear in some of her works as these whimsical little beings are a part of her life.

Laila works in oils, acrylics and mixed water based media. The mixed media lends itself to a dreamy effect and a deep translucent quality.

Laila's paintings are in collections in Canada, the U.S.A., Norway and Australia.
