WINE TASTING IS AN ART

This wine festival event was held on the 1st of May.  It was a great day to be out and about visiting the galleries and enjoing some wine tasting.

Anita Skinner and Anita McComas demonstrated their painting styles.  Both completed paintings are now in the gallery.

NEW FROM ELIZABETH EVANS

New original works are coming to the gallery from Elizabeth Evans.  This extremely versatile artist has created a

series of landscapes that are large and absolutely stunning.

                             YVONNE MORRISH paints on Yupo

Sounds like a plant you would find in the desert, when, in fact, it is a watercolorist's dream.  Yupo is a synthetic water resistant paper.  This very versatile paper provides the artist an opportunity to layer the watercolor paint when it is dry; to remove any paint that has been applied; to produce works with texture and vibrant color.  There is no absorption by the paper, so instead, the paint must dry through evaporation.  Before the paint dries, it will run, producing surprising effects and patterns.

Following are some examples of Yvonne's work on Yupo.  As with any work of art on paper, framing under glass is required.  Stop in at the gallery to view Yvonne's paintings on both Yupo and canvas.  Consider adding a painting from this talented Okanagan artist to your art collection.
