John Rocheleau John Rocheleau

John Rocheleau "Each painting totally absorbs me. I can relate to nothing else until it is done."

John's technique is impressionistic. He works alternately in oils and acrylics, using a "direct" method to maintain a spontaneous expression. Each painting is a unique labour of love that is taken from conception to completion before another is begun.

"I love the land. I can find perfection, beauty and power in a field of weeds. This is very atisfying to immerse myself in. I guess I am one of those artists who have fallen head-over-heels for the model."

"I look at the world as an adventure. Painting takes me deep into the bones of nature. I paint because I want to be immersed in life's beauty and power. The paintings are my means of discovery and expression. Every painting is motivated by those drives."

"I believe that when we paint, we communicate a little of the magic of nature, and I believe that nature resides in our hearts—it is never far away."
